Simone Watson is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, she earned placement in the top five percent of her class and presided over Rho Kappa- a social studies honor society. Though she adores Japanese culture, her heart belongs to American History and Classical Studies. At Duke, she is currently involved with the International House’s Language Partner program and is also an Undergraduate Writing Tutor at Duke’s Writing Studio. As of now, Simone considers receiving the Reginaldo Howard Memorial Scholarship her greatest college achievement. Without it, she would never have been able to attend Duke University. Simone has declared the History major with a minor in Cultural Anthropology. After Duke, she plans to attend graduate school and later become a successful novelist. The Reginaldo Howard Scholarship has made all of Simone’s dreams attainable. Every day, she is grateful for the faculty, staff, and sponsors that have made everything possible!
